At the beautiful Quinta da Velagota we facilitate shamanic training seminars. This partially wooded 4.5ha Quinta with olive trees, citrus trees, water mines and a herb garden in progress is situated at the side of a mountain with a decline of 50 meters from the top to the river, which is accessible through the property. The river called the Avoco is a lively flowing river with small waterfalls and can be seen from the property.The classes are held at the first floor in a classroom that is at this moment under construction (2010) when finished the views of the river and surrounding mountains of the Serra de Estrella can be experienced combined with the serene piece and space. The Serra de Estrella is a reserved ancient mountain range with the stones speaking seemingly waiting for the things to come.
You reach the Quinta by flying to o Porto. By car drive to Coimbra and from Coimbra follow the direction Oliveira do Hospital. Just before you reach O. do Hospital take the turn to Vide (see directions).
Training for 'shaman'.
Ay Gvhdi Waya, Eastern Cherokee Metis, has given me permission to train students based upon her training, experience and knowledge. She trained with Richard Graves, Western Cherokee medicine man and her crystal training came from Oh Shinnah Fast Wolf. Some people want to become a shaman. Shamans are born, not made. You will be assessed by Ingrid in order to see if you carry this energy signature. This is the path of the heart and a lifetime of practicing compassion and service to all our relations. There is no room for those who want to become a shaman who lust after the power and are ruled by their Ego. If you have a calling to be a shaman, then there is a path open to you to find out if you are and if you’re ready to become one.A first step in our process is choosing to take one of the following: the crystal healing seminar, the natural world seminar or the natural essences seminar. All three must be taken in order to pursue a potential shamanic path, with a maximum one a year between each.
The applicant can request an evaluation at this point to determine whether or not they are shamanic facilitator material or not.
If the teacher feels you have the qualifications and the heart-level compassion that is necessary, then the next step may be pursued by the shaman candidate. This means gaining mental strength, focus and integration with the world around you.
If it is determined you have the capability, skills and humbleness, there follows three years of rigorous training. You will be coached by Ingrid, Grizzly Bear Guide. At the end of successfully completing the the three year candidacy, you will again be evaluated. If it is determined that you can take the next step, you will be offered a five-day shamanic facilitator course. Then, there is two years of apprenticeship with your teacher.
