Your journey to Vide (Seia) Portugal Travel |
JOURNEY
It is intended that you organise your own journey to Vide. But we might contact others who travel to Vide the same time.We advise you at least the entire Sunday already present prior to the training and the following Saturday it is convenient for you to adapt after the training.
Fly
You can fly from Schiphol, with the TAP (check if there is no strike going on) to Porto. The sooner you book, the cheaper your flight.There is also Ryanair, flying from Eindhoven to Porto. Cheapest. But, they fly at 21.30 from NL and then you arrive around 23:15 Portuguese time. We recommend you to a hotel in Porto (see Ryanair's website for good prices), because you have a ride of 2.5 hours to go partly through mountains.
KLM only flies to Lisbon, it is possible, after this you have a 3.5 hours drive to Vide.
With Ryanair, I advise you to take a suitcase with you. Ryanair offers the choice, fly (cheap) with only hand luggage, facing well you know what's in hand luggage is allowded.
Car rental
It is an option to rent with a few a car, make a reservation in advance.Train
In Europe by train is almost not done, it is the longest and most expensive option.Take a train from Lisbon or Porto to Coïmbra and then take a bus to Vide (change in Oliveira do Hospital, I think). Find this out in advance, there is also a clear website from the portugese railways. And plan your flighttime in a reasonable manner. So you still have time to travel by daylight to Vide.
Bus trips
For people who do not wish to fly, there is a bus trip, you can then resign in Utrecht (or Amsterdam etc.) through Belgium and France. You're over 36 hours in the bus with different switches (from Holland).Last stop is in Oliveira do Hospital, from here you take a taxi or bus to Vide (you're tired, because the bus is usually completely occupied).

Car
You can also go by car. The 2200 kilometer ride (from Witte Paarden Holland), we drive in 2 days. One night around the city of Bordeaux a stop, where you might find nice places. There are as many hotels and campsites along the highway from Bordeaux to San Sebastian / Spain border.Spain is a boring way, few hotels, found in major cities and almost no campsites.
Refuel in Spain is often better prices than in France.
Extra costs are here the fuel costs and the toll roads fees. They can be avoided, but the journey takes you much longer, 5 days or something. This is a nice option if you have all the time.
You also have the possibility to transport various stones and souvenirs to bring back.
